The tube

It is a tube…a long tube.  The tube is knit in a circle, without seams.  It can be knit with 100% alpaca yarn or 100% organic merino wool.  The alpaca colors are NOT dyed.  They are the natural colors of the animals.  Because the alpaca yarn is not dyed, the black is not a jet black, it can appear as a very dark brown, and the white is not bleached, it is an off white.  The alpaca color options are shown in the color chart.  The organic merino wool come in the natural off white. I usually have some on hand that has been dyed with wildly and organically grown, black walnut husks.  If you are interested in the dyed wool, please ask to see current availability.

The ends of the tube are curled, due to the plain knitting; the curl will relax after washing.  The tube measures about 5 feet in length and is almost 18 inches around when not stretched.  It is meant to fit over your head and then can be wrapped around your neck as a scarf and hat, or it can just hand down.  For extra warmth fold it, inward or outward, a few inches before putting it on your head.  This will help to block wind from getting into your ears.
